Not much time was wasted as NT Rama Rao himself was the first of the Don-clones, his film releasing just a year after the original. Co-starring Jayasudha, the Telugu version stuck to almost entirely the same script. And while it featured some new songs, Khaike Paan Banaras Wala stayed intact to the last note, and was sung as Oh Rabba Yesukunna Killi.
