Shankar: He is the best percussionist in the country. We just performed in Doha and he rocked the crowd.
Manish: Shankar, he has lots of award list in his name.
Zakir: Shankar too has a lot of awards.
Shankar: You know, his album has been nominated four times for the Grammies and he has won once. This year too he has been nominated. How does he manage it?
Zakir: (laughs) I bribe someone. But seriously, it's your colleagues and contemporaries who give you a high in life. Moreover, if Shiv Prasadji, Hari Prasadji, Ali Akbar Khan and Amjadbhai give me an applause, it gives me a bigger high. Grammy wammy toh goes on. They like it and nominate it. This album is out and out classical album.
Shankar: Is it solo?
Zakir: Part of it is a solo and part of it is a duet with Ashish Khan, son of Ali Akbar Khan.
