'Aamir was very generous with us'

My first movie was in Bengali. They came to me with the story and said I would fit the role.

It wasn't difficult to give up banking and take up acting. I had always wanted to act and had been on stage in school.

In Rang De Basanti, the script was so good that it make us look natural. All of us had good roles. And everyone had at least one scene where the entire focus was on us. So, we got a chance to do our best.

Aamir (Khan) was very generous with us. He is a big actor and a very good one. The film gave me a chance to act naturally. I consider myself lucky to be part of it.

I have since completed a Hindi movie called Ahista Ahista with Abhay Deol. It's a sensitive, sweet love story, and my first as the only heroine. I have only acted in multi-starrers so far.

I have also completed Postcard, an English movie made by an Indian director (Los Angeles-based Rajshree Ojha) and set in America. She brings new ideas to filmmaking.
