He's been there, done it all, but one thing that he did not do was play a dwarf. In this film he does that as well. It's a regular revenge drama otherwise, where the cop father gets bumped in a macabre manner by a band of thugs, and it is the dwarf son who sets out to settle scores in a more grisly manner. How many actors do you know of who played a dwarf?
Maro Charitra (1978)
Kamal also acted in other southern languages. This Telugu film was the original of Ek Duje Ke Liye, both made by K Balachander. Kamal is the Tamil boy who falls in love with a Telugu girl played by Sarita, whereas in the Hindi version it is the Tamil-Hindi combo of Kamal and Rati Agnihotri. The original had all the elements of the remake, plus a Balachander trademark for a long time: it was made in black and white. In these days when movies barely into their second week are declared a hit, this film ran for a year in Chennai - there must have been a reason for it.
