It was the 50th year of Sivaji Productions and everything about the function was huge except the hall, which could not accommodate the large number of guests.

Even well known artists like 'Jeyam' Ravi, who came in late, had to stand near the door till the end of the function. Vijay, who made a quiet, late entry, had to be content with a seat in the back row.

About 2,50,000 cassettes of Chandramukhi were sold in the morning of March 5 itself, Ram Kumar told the audience proudly.

The audio cassette was released by Asha Bhosle.
