Dhanush's first release after his marriage to Rajnikanth's daughter Aishwarya. After three consecutive hits (Thulluvatho Ilamai, Kadal Kondein and Thiruda Thiruda), Dhanush gave three huge flops (Puthukotayilurundu Saravanan, Sullan and Dreams). From the looks of Devathaye Kandein, he is going for another miserable flop.
Dhanush plays a teashop boy and his love interest is Sridevi, daughter of actor Vijayakumar and a friend of Aishwarya's. This love story is directed and scripted by Bhoopathi Pandyan.
After the huge success of Kadal Kondein, directed by his brother Selvaraghavan, Dhnaush was flooded with offers, and it appears he accepted them all! Unsurprisingly, all those insipid films flopped miserably. Devathaye Kandein was also a film signed recklessly, but it's taken very long for the film to complete.
Only his next scheduled releases, one by Balu Mahendra and the other by Selvaraghavan, can possibly salvage some box office status for Dhanush.
