Pinjar marks the debut in Bollywood of director Chandraprakash Dwivedi.

Dwivedi holds an MBBS degree, but chose to do theatre with Satyadev Dubey. He then directed the acclaimed television series Chanakya.

After a stint as CEO of Zee Network, Dwivedi donned the director's cap for the Hindi film Pinjar.

He has also written the screenplay and dialogues.
