In 2002, Denzel Washington was in Toronto to promote his directorial debut, Antwone Fisher.
This year, the festival witnessed a gala screening of Out Of Time, at the Roy Thompson Hall. Washington plays a cop in the film.
The two-time Oscar winner (Glory, Training Day) is a hot favourite with the Canadian media, thanks to his genial nature: "It is a non-competitive film festival, which means there are no campaigns, no backbiting," he says.
