You seem to love remakes. Like Nayak and Saathiya, this is also a remake of the Telugu film Choodalani Vundi. (Nayak was a remake of Shankar's Tamil film Mudhalvan, starring Arjun. Saathiya was a remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Alai Payuthey, starring Madhavan and Shalini.)

I guess we loved the script [of the Telugu film starring Chiranjeevi, Anjala Zhaveri and Soundarya] so much that we wanted to make it famous worldwide. Regional language films do not get too much mileage.

My role here is different from my other film with Anil Kapoor, Nayak. I played a village girl there. Here, I play an educated, modern chawl girl. I live in a basti and have a simple look. I have tried to give myself a different look as the script demanded.
