Newcomer Shayan Munshi is yet another Bengali to join the team, after director Sujoy Ghosh and actors Rahul Bose and Riya Sen.

A tennis player who represented West Bengal in his college days, Munshi's dream of playing at the national level crashed when a back injury forced him to quit sports. He took to modelling.

Munshi was named as a witness in the Jessica Lal murder case, as he was present at Bina Ramani's party on the night when the model was shot dead. Soon after, he packed his bags and shifted to Mumbai. At 24, he makes his debut in Jhankaar Beats.

While elder sister Raima prefers parallel cinema (Godmother, Daman), Riya prefers the commercial variety (the shelved Love You Hamesha, Style).
