Photographed by music video director Sanjay F Gupta, Qayamat is India's first fully digitally graded film. A Columbia Film School graduate, Gupta has earlier assisted filmmaker Shekar Kapur (Bandit Queen, Elizabeth, Four Feathers).

The film boasts of elaborate sets, including a prison, underground tunnels and a disease control laboratory by Nitish Roy.
