Though Ash played a Bengali character and spoke a few Bengali words in Devdas, her voice was dubbed in this Bengali film.

Ash looked gorgeous as usual, even in the unglamorous widow's robes that she had to wear in keeping with her character Binodini. Though she was the central character in the film, Ash was overshadowed by the newer actress Raima Sen, in a compelling performance.

This December also sees Ash in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Khakee, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar.
