Mehra says, "Rakesh Roshan took a big risk with his and Hrithik's careers. Had the film not worked, it would have been a great blow to the Roshans."

In an earlier interview to rediff.com, Rakesh Roshan had said the Indian audience had become clever and could differentiate between good and bad films. "You cannot take the audience for granted. Even a five-year-old knows films," he had said.

Mehra says, "If this film runs to full houses for a week all over the country, it will break even. But the money it generates from overseas is also important to get more revenues."
