Vyjayanthimala Bali'While an artiste speaks from the heart, politics entails you to tread cautiously' A Padmashri awardee for her contribution to dance and music, actress Vyjayanthimala counts her roles as Member of Parliament among her many laurels. 'Politics certainly does not allow the kind of spontaneity that the arts allow. Here one cannot afford to be reckless or impulsive. But there are to some extent certain similarities as well. For example, while in the arts you are required to play a role, politics expects you to actually -- or almost -- live it out,' the actress had once said. Vyjayanthimala says her only intention in entering politics was to serve the people, not hanker after fame, wealth or glamour. Once with the Congress, she now serves with the BJP.
