Biwi No 1 (1999)

For a change, Karisma had more to do than playing a good-looking prop in a David Dhawan film.

After making several hit No 1 films (Coolie No 1, Hero No 1, Jodi No 1) with his favourite hero Govinda, Dhawan roped in favourite heroine Karisma to play Biwi No 1.

Kapoor played the forsaken wife of a cheating husband, determined to get him back on track. The film didn’t require her to display any histrionics, but her screen presence won her brownie points among the viewers.
