Urmila Matondkar was the original choice for the role of Shah Rukh Khan's vivacious, confident, sensitive best friend Nisha in Yash Chopra’s Dil To Pagal Hai.

Thanks to date hassles, Matondkar walked out and Karisma stepped in.

Besides looking gorgeous and dancing like a dream, Karisma stood her own against her favourite actress Madhuri Dixit.

Even in a brief role, the stunner stole the thunder. She won a National Award for her role.
