Microsoft India on Tuesday launched the Student and Teacher edition of Office 2003 at a special price to enable the academic community have greater access to the latest technologies.
Priced at Rs 6,950, Office 2003's special edition has Microsoft Office Excel 2003, Office Outlook and Office PowerPoint along with Office Word 2003, a company release said.
Students and teachers can now get the latest tools and applications of Office 2003 to apply information technology to education process while working on special projects, research, e-learning and online networking with international universities from home, it said.
Uneven access to technology and the consequent digital divide is the biggest challenge today as India moves towards creating an all-inclusive integration of IT in the education process by students and teachers, Ranjivjit Singh, director, business and marketing operations, Microsoft India, said.
"We aim to extend office productivity to the students and teacher community," Karthik Padmanabhan, business group head, Microsoft India, said.
