How did you go about starting this company? Why telecom solutions?
My experience is entirely in the area of telecom and mostly wireless networks. There was an opportunity in the base station market where the future was for smaller and cheaper base stations that can save substantial savings to operators so that they can carpet blanket the network with many base stations to give excellent coverage and connectivity. We believed we could deliver those base stations using different approach in making base stations.
Why did you give up a job to start your own venture?
I believe that India has reached a stage where it has to go to the next level - making technology products and delivering to the global markets. It can be done - and someone has to do it. Instead of just believing in it and talking about it, I felt like actually going about doing it. It started off as an adventure but now it is the life I live.
Finance was a major constraint for you. How did you manage?
We pooled in our own money and got some angel funding. The money has come from friends, family and few angel investors familiar with the industry. We have been generating revenues for over a year now. We started with 4 employees and we are currently 31.
