The law is laid down. There is a procedure that needs to be followed. We can do it without political support also.
Will the population of Magarpatta when it is completed be enough for an Assembly seat?
Thirty-five to 40 thousand people will be living here, and 60 to 70 thousand people will be working here. That is not enough for an assembly seat.
Will Nanded city look like Magarpatta or will it be different?
The site is not square it is linear. It will be different. On one side it will have commercial space and the residential area will be on the other side. Here the residential area is around the commercial area. This is 400 acres and that is 700 acres.
Have you enhanced security after the Mumbai terror attacks?
We always had a very strong security cover in Magarpatta. Closed circuit TVs monitor it all the 24 hours. We have a security force that has retired Natioanl Security Guard commandoes and army personnel. They have retired after 16 years and are now on our pay roll.
So far they have not been allowed to carry arms but now we have applied for the same. We have sniffer dogs to detect bombs, but after the recent terror attacks in Mumbai, we are readying ourselves to fight against any such assault.
People believe that real estate will be 30% cheaper this year. Is it true?
Not in Pune. In metros where the prices are high they will fall.
Is it true that when delivery of some flats got delayed you gave away your own flats?
Once there was a delay because of attacks by Maharashtra Navanirman Sena on north Indian migrant workers. There was shortage of labour and it became a critical issue. And it was not my house, but a flat owned by the corporation.
