The Enforcement Directorate has decided to open up its files and sift through them to check on all the foreign funds that were raised by Satyam Computer Services in the last few years.
The ED will also check how these monies were utlilised.
Sources said that the finance ministry is also looking at capital gains tax paid by Satyam and Maytas entities for large share transactions.
The land transactions by Satyam and Maytas have come under the Central Board of Direct Taxes scanner to ascertain if there was any tax evasion.
The North Block, which houses the Union finance ministry in New Delhi, has begun investigation into the shocking Satyam scam. Sources say that the ministry has started an independent enquiry into Satyam's transactions.
