The central government on Monday told the Bombay high court that the stay on the sale of RIL-produced gas at the Krishna-Godavari Basin should be lifted in the interests of the economy, specially the power and fertiliser sectors.
The government told the court that price of gas, determined by an empowered group of ministers, is applicable to all the buyers, whether they are government companies or private.
The government will file an affidavit to this effect on Tuesday.
The court is hearing the dispute between Reliance Industries Ltd [Get Quote] and Reliance Natural Resources Ltd [Get Quote] over the gas supply agreement.
