Amazing story of a man and his airplane

March 10, 2008
All this growth and focused attention has shown up in terms of revenues. Revenues from international operations are already 37 per cent of total revenues (Q3FY08); the target is to make it 50 per cent of total revenues over the next 12 months.

Average gross revenue per passenger in rupees is up; in terms of dollars, the rise is quite significant (28 per cent) when compared with the last year's third quarter.

The US and UK comprise an important part of international revenues (see chart II). Seat factors are also in the early 60s, which is quite good for an airline that's launched its services recently.

Kingfisher, in contrast, has been having a particularly trying time as far as its international plans go. The airline was set to introduce its Bangalore-San Francisco flight from April 2008, followed by many other routes.
