The story of two bulls

February 4, 2008

Is Vaastu the way out?

Despite the BSE's strident note, a majority of the broker community feels that the positioning of the bull is the cause of their woes and that it should be placed facing in a different direction or moved away to a nearby spot, much like the Wall Street Bull was.

Some brokers, media reports said, had also requested exchange authorities to position the bull following the tenets of Vaastu Shastra, a traditional Hindu principle of town planning and architecture where all creations are placed in harmony with natural and metaphysical forces.

Even though the stock exchange did not make any statement in this regard, one BSE official said that the authorities might look at this matter favorably to assuage the brokers' fears.
