Naina Lal Kidwai is the CEO of Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, India.
She took over from from Niall S K Booker on May 5, 2006. She joined HSBC in November 2002 as vice chairman and managing director, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets India Private Limited.
She began her career in banking with ANZ Grindlays Bank (acquired by Standard Chartered bank in 2000)and then moved on to head the Indian operations of Morgan Stanley. She left Morgan Stanley in 2002 to join HSBC India.
Fortune magazine listed Kidwai among the World's Top 50 Corporate Women from 2000 to 2003. She has been awarded with Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian honours.
