Finance Minister Jaswant Singh was the chief guest at the event and handed out the awards to both Anu Aga and Ranjana Kumar.

"Indian women are not just the preservers of Indian culture but also of Indian enterprise. That is my conviction," declared Singh.

At the event, Singh also presented a 20-minute audio visual on Indian economy's resurgence. The presentation was on the lines of the India Shining campaign that the Government has been running.

For the opposition parties who have criticised the campaign and disputed the 'feel-good' factor that the Government is touting, Singh had a few things to say.

"The feel-good factor is in essence a resurgence of the self confidence of India. The economic picture that I have presented to you is not drawn up by any one party. The finance minister is not that of a party, he is the finance minister of the country," declared Singh.

To those who doubt India's growth and wonder if India can catch up with China, Singh had only one thing to say. "There's really no one better than India. We need to believe that. We need to have that confidence in ourselves."
