BPO SHAKES UP AMERICAN POLITICS: US companies may have saved about $10 billion in four years by outsourcing to India, but the stories of joblessness and the emotional distress that BPO has caused have hogged headlines the world over.

With US presidential elections round the corner, the heartburn has snowballed into a national issue.

Studies suggest that the BPO phenomenon will not only get deeper with more MNCs outsourcing their infotech requirements to India, but will also spread to new areas like automobile components and clinical research.
