Corporation Bank net profit up 35%

Corporation Bank has posted a 35 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 415.99 crore (Rs 4.159 billion) for the fiscal year 2002-03 when compared with Rs 308.1 crore (Rs 3.081 billion) in the fiscal year 2001-02.
Total income has increased 13 per cent to Rs 2,634.28 crore (Rs 26.342 billion) from Rs 2,327.63 crore (Rs 23.276 billion), according to a release issued by the bank to the BSE on Wednesday.
The bank has posted a 4 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 47.28 crore (Rs 472.8 million) for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2003 as against Rs 45.37 crore (Rs 453.7 million) for the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Total income has increased 12.59 per cent to Rs 656.94 crore (Rs 6.569 billion) from Rs 583.45 crore (Rs 5.834 billion).
As per the consolidated results, the bank has posted a net profit of Rs 438.11 crore (Rs 4.381 billion) for FY03 as against Rs 373.65 crore (Rs 3.736 billion) in FY02.
Total income has increased to Rs 2,733.63 crore (Rs 27.336 billion) from Rs 2,476.03 crore (Rs 24.760 billion).
The board has recommended a dividend of 45 per cent for the year ended March 31, 2003.
