Revised IUC order may be delayed: Baijal

August 28, 2003 19:25 IST

The revised inter-connect user charge order of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India is likely to be delayed by another 10-15 days as the regulator is yet to receive certain data from Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd and private operators, Trai chairman, Pradip Baijal told PTI in New Delhi.

He said Trai would take between a week to 10 days to issue the revised IUC order, from the day it receives the data from operators.

"Once we get it, it will take us a week or 10 days to sift through that data and issue the order," Baijal said adding, "Having gone so far, we do not want to finalise the order without getting the data."

Baijal said some of the data was related to shift in telecom traffic movement after IUC regime was implemented on May 1.

"Also earlier we have given 2001-02 data, and we did not have the data for 2002-03," Baijal said.
