Sinha to lead GoM on fertiliser policy

The government on Thursday decided to set up a Group of Ministers headed by Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha to prepare a fertiliser policy and to bring out a revival package for fertiliser companies.

The government is working on the revival package for the Hindustan Fertiliser Corporation, Fertiliser Corporation of India, Project and Development India Limited and Pyrites Phosphate and Chemicals Limited and the GoM would make recommendations in this direction, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pramod Mahajan told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.

The members of the GoM include the Agriculture Minister Nitish Kumar, Chemical and Fertiliser Minister, S S Dhindsa, Human Resources Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi, Heavy Industries Minister Manohar Joshi and the Minister of State for Divestment Arun Shourie.
