I-T sleuths swoop down on Raheja group companies

Our Correspondent in Bombay

The Income Tax department on Tuesday carried out extensive raids on the Raheja group companies all over the country.

The raids, it is learnt, have also been made at Shoppers' Stop and the group's other offices in the country.

Speaking to rediff.com, a senior Income Tax official confirmed that the raids have indeed been carried out and that I-T officials are taking stock of the situation.

"Further details will be provided by Tuesday evening," said the official.

This is one of a series of raids which the Income Tax authorities are conducting. Three months ago, the Usha group too was raided by the I-T officials.
