Ashok Leyland hikes product prices

Truck and bus maker Ashok Leyland has raised prices of its trucks and buses by up to 3 per cent, a company spokesman said on Tuesday.

He said the maximum increase were on vehicles that contribute to 2 per cent of the sales volume.

Price increases on other vehicles were in the range of 1.5 percent to 2.5 per cent, he said from his office in Madras.

The hikes were effective May 25, he said.

Ashok Leyland shares were up 1.29 per cent in early deals, while the Sensex was 0.56 per cent higher.
