Revamped 3 BSE indices to debut July 9

The Bombay Stock Exchange has announced changes in its indexes -- BSE-100, BSE-200 and BSE-500. The changed indexes will be effective from July 9.

The BSE Index Committee, at its meeting last week, decided to replace Nagarjuna Fertilisers & Chemicals with Monsanto India in BSE-100. It has also decided to replace eight stocks in BSE-200 and 22 stocks in BSE-500.

The stocks included in BSE-200 are Alstom Power India, Balaji Telefilm, Crompton Greaves, Finolex Industries Ltd, Mukta Arts, Swaraj Engines, Syngenta India and United Breweries Ltd.

The scrips dropped from BSE-200 are Archies Greetings & Gifts Ltd., Ciba Speciality Chemicals (India), Godfrey Phillips India, Himatsingka Seide, KSB Pumps, Lakshmi Machine Works, OTIS Elevator and Timken India.

Similarly, the stocks replaced in BSE-500 are Aksh Optifibre, Andhra Bank, Aztec Software & Tech Ser, Balaji Telefilm, Birla Global Finance, Eicher Motors, Etc Networks, Hughes Tele Com, Lakhani India, Mascon Global, Mid-Day Multimedia, MRO-TEK, Mukta Arts, PNB Gilts, Priyadarshini Cement, Ramco Systems, Saint-Gobain Securit India, Sterling Tea & Industries, Subex Systems, Suven Pharmaceuticals, Syngenta India and Tips Industries.

The stocks excluded from BSE-500 are Ambuja Cement Rajasthan, American Remedies, Bajaj Tempo, Birla VXL India, Denso India, Dewan Hsg Finance Corp, Eicher, Elgitread (India), Gulf Oil India, Herbertsons, International Bestfoods, Jagatjit Industries, Kalyani Brakes, Lumax Industries, Maars Software International, Maharashtra Scooters, OTIS Elevator Co, Rossell Industries, Shri Shakti LPG, Tudor India, Ucal Fuel Systems, Wellwin Industry.

Consequent to the replacements in BSE-500, the constitution of the BSE-Sector indices, which are a sub-set of the BSE-500 would change accordingly.
