India offers $50-mn credit to Malaysia

Prime Minister A B Vajpayee in MalaysiaIndian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee said on Tuesday his government will give Malaysia $50 million credit to import industrial goods from India.

"To give an impetus to these efforts, my government has decided to offer a line of credit of $50 million for imports of projects and industrial goods into Malaysia from India," Vajpayee said in a speech to business leaders in the Malaysian capital.

A copy of the speech was obtained by Reuters. Vajpayee is on a three-day visit to Malaysia to boost economic relations between the two countries.
