Anti-dumping duty levied on China, EU, Korea, IndonesiaThe government on Friday imposed an anti-dumping duty of $187 per tonne on all imports of phosphoric acid from China and different rates of duty on imports of polyester film from South Korea and Indonesia and on sodium ferrocyanide from European Union. The department of revenue notified these duties on the basis of recommendations made by the Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties. The anti-dumping duty on phosphoric acid from China will be on the chemical having a purity level of 85 per cent or above. The department has also imposed anti-dumping duty at the rate to be calculated as the difference between $1,535 per metric tonne and landed value of all imports of sodium ferrocyanide from the European Union. It has also notified imposition of anti-dumping duty of between $0.356 to $0.710 per Kg on all imports of polyester film from Indonesia while notifying duties of between $0.358 to $0.982 per kg on all imports form Korea. The anti-dumping duty imposed under the notification will be effective up to November 9, 2001, and shall be payable in Indian currency. The Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties had earlier recommended imposition of duties in its preliminary findings brought out last month. The department has also imposed anti-dumping duty at the rate to be calculated as the difference between $1,535 per metric tonne and landed value of all imports of sodium ferrocyanide from the European Union. The DGAD in its final findings dated April 16, 2001 had recommended imposition of anti-dumping duties. Based on these final findings the revenue department has in its notification said that the duty shall be levied with effect from the date of imposition of the provisional anti-dumping duty on January 2001.
