A-I to introduce new non-stop flights to Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong

BS Economy Bureau

Air-India will shortly introduce new non-stop direct flights to Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai from Bombay, Madras and Hyderabad.

An Air-India spokesperson said that the airline had decided to use the freshly leased aircraft, three of which it had already received and two of which it was expecting within a week, to enhance connectivity to Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai by introducing direct non-stop flights from various Indian cities to these destinations.

"We are planning to introduce non-stop, direct, twice a week services from Bombay and Madras to Hong Kong," he said. This will enhance Air-India's India-Hong Kong service to nine flights a week.

Air-India also has plans to launch a direct, non-stop Bombay-Singapore three times a week service, thus, increasing the total number of flights from India to Singapore operated by Air-India to 19 flights a week. In addition, a new Hyderabad-Dubai-Jeddah service will also be launched shortly.

"At present passengers do not have the option of flying to Hong Kong directly from Bombay and Madras, as we do not offer direct services from these cities. Keeping passenger convenience in mind, it has been decided to use the leased aircraft on these routes," the spokesperson said.
