HC restrains Wintech MD and other officials from leaving India

The Delhi high court on Friday restrained owners of Wintech E-Commerce , allegedly involved in "fraudulently" extracting money from franchises all over the country for establishing computer centres, from leaving India without its permission.

Justuce A K Sikiri while issuing notices to Wintech, its managing director and others said, "respondents are restrained from leaving the country."

They were directed to submit replies by August 16 on two recovery suits, filed by two Delhi-based franchises.

While the computer firm Janak Infotech sought recovery of Rs 8 million from Wintech, another franchise K S Chawla said he had to recover Rs 2.6 million from the company.

The court also restrained the company from removing any of the equipment including computers and other electronic gadgets from the premises of the two city firms.

Janak Infotech in its suit alleged that Wintech and its officials in connivance with some other persons had hatched a conspiracy to cheat it and other franchises in the country of several billion of rupees in the name of setting up of computer education centres at their premises.

Janak's counsel Pramod K Sharma claimed the company and some other persons who had association with it had collected over Rs 3 billion in India and are now planning to abscond abroad without honouring their commitments.
