Infosys to build Toshiba's information infrastructure

Infosys Technologies Ltd, the Bangalore-based global leader in software consulting and IT services, on Wednesday announced the expansion of its relationship with Toshiba Corporation, to build the information infrastructure for its global operations across many lines of business.

Infosys has provided Toshiba with a dedicated team for the architecture and implementation of large and mission-critical business initiatives.

It is also a key partner for systems integration and provides business-technology mapping capabilities, strong process orientation, and high quality implementation skills.

According to Toshiba Information Systems Center Kyosuke Tsuruta, the strong process orientation of Infosys along with its domain knowledge has helped the global electronic company in implementing its strategic IT roadmap across different worldwide businesses.

Infosys' board director Phaneesh Murthy said the company was proud to be associated with Toshiba across many countries and adding value to its various businesses and engagements.

"Toshiba is at the cutting edge of the world's electronics industry, and as business technologists we will leverage IT to be a competitive advantage for them," Murthy added.

Infosys will assist Toshiba analyse its business-critical systems and chart out a path to make these solutions robust and to support growing business demands.

The partnership will not only help Toshiba build its business information infrastructure for the future, but also address its current IT needs.

The Infosys-Toshiba relationship started in Japan in 1998 and has since expanded to Toshiba's operations across the US, Australia, Germany, France, Malaysia, the UK, and Singapore.
