Krishan Kant reprimands Yashwant Sinha

Rajya Sabha Chairman Krishan Kant on Tuesday reprimanded Union Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha for making certain utterances against Congress member Kapil Sibal during the course of his reply to short duration discussion on UTI muddle.

"I think Yashwant Sinha should not have used these words," Kant ruled and the Finance Minister withdrew those words after leader of opposition Manmohan Singh requested him to do so even though the words uttered were not unparliamentary.

"In deference to the chair, I withdraw these words," Sinha said and continued with his reply after few minutes of heated exchanges on the issue.

Earlier, when some Opposition members demanded that those words should be expunged, Kant ruled he could not to do as they were not unparliamentary.
