Rs 16.37-billion World Bank loan for KarnatakaKarnataka government would soon sign an agreement with the World Bank for securing a loan assistance of Rs 16.37 billion for upgradation and rehabilitation of 2,300 kms of state highway, Minister for Public Works, N Dharm Singh told the state Assembly on Monday. The state had sought Rs 20.30 billion loan from World Bank but it had sanctioned Rs 16.37 billion, he said, while replying to B N Bacchegowda (Janata Dal, United) during question hour. He said that HUDCO (Housing and Urban Development Corporation) had sanctioned a Rs 2 billion loan for taking up improvements on four national highways and construction of 153 bridges.
