Brokers plan to float national forum

Suresh R Menon

The BSE Brokers' Forum has decided to call a meeting of all the regional stock exchanges on Tuesday in Bombay. The agenda of the meeting is to float the Federation of Indian Stock Brokers, which would be an apex body at the national level.

ASE Brokers Association vice-chairman Atul M Chokshi said that the proposed federation would be an independent body of brokers' representatives from all the stock exchanges in the country. It would have its own separate office and full-time professional staff.

The objective of FISB would be to represent the grievances of brokers in all the stock exchanges from a common platform, he said.
