Iran hopes it will be 'a pipeline of peace'

Iranian Foreign Minister Kemal Kharrazi has expressed hope that the proposed Iranian gas pipeline to India through Pakistan would soon become a reality and serve as the 'pipeline of peace'.

Kharrazi made the remark during a meeting with Pakistan's Interior Minister Lt Gen (Retd) Moin-ud-Din Haider on Monday.

Both ministers are here to attend the United Nations conference on small arms.

Pakistani sources said the two also discussed the forthcoming summit between Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, but declined to give details.
