Anti-dumping case against US, EU, Singapore

The designate anti-dumping authority has initiated investigations against imports of Vitamin AB2D3K from European Union, USA, Thailand and Singapore.

The directorate general of anti-dumping and allied duties, under the commerce ministry has initiated the investigation for the period April-December 2000 on the basis of a petition filed by the Bombay-based Nicholas Piramal India Ltd.

The petitioner company is a major manufacturer of the vitamin accounting for about 62 per cent of the country's total production of Vitamin AB2D3K.

The vitamin is a loose, brownish-yellow coloured powder and is an essential component of poultry feed.

In its initiation notification, the DGAD said that there was sufficient prima-facie evidence that the normal value of the subject good in the said countries was significantly higher than the net export price.

In view of this, the DGAD has initiated anti-dumping investigations into the existence, degree and effect of alleged dumping of the goods from the said countries.
