Reliance Industries revises product prices

Reliance Industries, India's largest petrochemical maker, said on Friday it has revised prices of some products effective August 1.

It raised the price of partially oriented yarn by 3 per cent to Rs 62.21 per kg from Rs 60.40 on July 1 and polyester staple fibre by 2.05 per cent to Rs 49.75 per kg from Rs 48.75.

It cut the price of polyethylene terephthalate by 3.33 per cent to Rs 58 per kg from Rs 60.

Reliance said it increased the prices of polymers like polyethylene by 2.39 per cent to Rs 42.80 a kg from Rs 41.80 and polypropylene by 2.63 per cent to Rs 39 from Rs 38. Prices of polyvinyl chloride were cut 4.4 per cent to Rs 32.55 per kg from Rs 34.05.

The company said it had not changed prices of fibre intermediates purified terephthalic acid and monoethylene glycol, and the chemical linear alkylbenzene.

Reliance shares were down 2.09 per cent at Rs 311.75 in morning trade, while the Sensex was up 0.48 per cent.
