Mango Lassi: 5-Min Recipe

Hot weather brings with it sharp longings for Indian roadside thirst slakers.
Images of plates of cold cut fruit, ganna (sugarcane) juice, many-hued falooda start dancing in your head.

The most wonderful of them all are of the Lassiwala and his large chilled matka, swimming with thick chunks of malai. Or the variations he offers like fruit lassis.
The best of them is creamy mango lassi.

Chef Nilesh Limaye offers a 4-ingredient recipe for the drink. His secret is black pepper. The drink takes 5 minutes to make, not counting chilling time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh mango pulp
  • 1 cup yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp crushed black peppercorn

Method

  • Whisk the yoghurt to a smooth consistency in a mixing bowl.
    Gradually add the sugar and the mango pulp into the yoghurt.

  • Whisk till the sugar dissolves completely in the yoghurt.
    Chill in the fridge for at least an hour.
  • Serve in tall glasses; Serves 2.

Tips
Consider adding a little bit of sliced almonds for garnish
