This is the cheapest Honda bike in India

Honda launches CD 110 Dream motorcycle as it pushes further into getting volumes in India, says Faisal Ali Khan of MotorBeam.com

Remember the CD 100, a bike which was very popular in India in the 1990s, that was sold as a Hero Honda?

Post the split with Hero, Honda is now trying to take advantage of bike names which are already popular in the domestic market. The company has launched the CD 110 Dream bike in the Indian market, which is also the cheapest Honda 2-wheeler on sale.

The Honda CD 110 Dream is priced at Rs 41,110 in Delhi (ex-showroom). This bike is Rs 5000 cheaper than the Dream Neo and Rs 7000 less than the Dream Yuga, the bikes with which it shares most of its parts with.

The CD 110 uses a wheelbase of 1258 mm and has a ground clearance of 179 mm. It resembles other bikes from the Dream series and Honda is betting big on it to get volumes in the country.

Powering the Honda Dream CD 110 is the same 110cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which belts out 8.3 PS of peak power output at 7500 RPM and 8.63 Nm of peak torque output at 5500 RPM.

This motorcycle gets HET which is Honda Eco Technology, helping it to return a mileage of 74 km/l (claimed). Only one variant of the CD 110 is offered, which gets kick-start with drum brakes.

The Honda CD 110 Dream has been launched but sales will only commence next month as dispatches will begin by the middle of July.

The CD 110 will compete with the TVS Star City and Hero HF Deluxe in the Indian market. It is offered in three colour options.

Honda has also launched a "Honda is Honda" corporate campaign to emphasise its brand. The 2-wheeler major will launch a 160cc motorcycle in the upcoming festive season.
