Stop Smoking

American Lung Association warns: The harmful chemicals in cigarette makes breathing difficult and cause long-term inflammation in the lungs. Over time, smoking damages lung tissue and increases the risk of lung cancer. Quitting smoking -- or never starting --  is one of the best ways to protect your lungs and maintain overall respiratory health.

Keep Your Humidifier And ACs Clean

Humidifiers add moisture to the air, making it easier to breathe. But, but if not cleaned regularly, they can become breeding grounds for mould and bacteria, says WebMD. These airborne fungi can lead to lung infections and inflammation. To prevent this, clean your humidifier frequently, change filters. Do the same for your ACs. And generally ensure your home is dust and mould free.
