Kajol and Ajay Devgan are the new celebrities to hop on to the movement to segregate plastic.
Kajol and Ajay Devgan were part of Plastic Banega Fantastic, a clean-up drive held in Mumbai over the weekend.
'What makes us feel most passionately about it is the fact that it is only getting worse,' said Kajol commenting about the gravity of the overuse of plastic.
'When we talk about plastic and the extent of it, the numbers are shocking and horrifying.
'By 2050, we will have more plastic in the sea than fish. So what will we be eating at that point in time?' she questioned the audience gathered at the drive.
She added: 'It has got nothing to do with literacy and illiteracy. Nothing to do with rich and poor. I think we all have to start doing our little bit.'
Kajol and Ajay hoped to educate people about segregating plastic through the drive.
'It's all about keeping an extra dustbin in your house,' she explained. 'It takes 1,000 years for plastic to disintegrate and this one thing will make a difference.'
'We need to educate people which bin is for what and how it will make a difference.
'The vision should be to change yourself. If everyone start changing themselves, then there will be no need to change anyone,' Ajay Devgan shared.
