Busy Weifang, located on the Yellow Sea on the northern coast of China, is known as the World Capital of Kites. Kites were invented in Asia and have been flown in Weifang for centuries. The city hosts one of the largest kite festivals in the month of April, showcasing creative kite designs. Many competitive events also take place.
