When your skin gets dry and itchy this winter, make these face masks, containing simple ingredients, at home, to hydrate, nourish your skin and make it glow.
Mix 2 tbsp raw honey with 1 tbsp of lukewarm milk and create a smooth paste. Apply to your face and leave on for about 15-20 minutes. Wash with warm water. Honey hydrates the skin deeply; milk brightens dull winter skin.
To get a creamy texture to your mask, mash half an avocado and half a banana. Apply to your skin and leave on for around 20 minutes. Rinse with normal water. Avocados are rich in healthy fats that nourish dry skin, and bananas are loaded with vitamins A and C, which help restore a natural glow.
Mix 2 tbsp plain yoghurt with 1 tbsp ground oatmeal. Apply as a mask and leave for 15 minutes and then wash off. Yoghurt contains probiotics that soothe and brighten skin, while oatmeal gently removes dead cells and adds moisture.
Mix 2 tbsp fresh aloe vera gel with 1 tsp vitamin E oil. Apply this cooling mask to your face for 20 minutes. Aloe vera calms and hydrates dry, irritated skin, while vitamin E rejuvenates and prevents winter damage, leaving glowing skin.
Mix 1 tbsp organic coconut oil with a pinch of turmeric powder to form a smooth paste. Apply to your face and set for 15 minutes. Coconut oil deeply moisturises and protects against harsh winter air, while turmeric, rich in anti-inflammatory properties, brightens your skin tone.
