We'd asked you, dear readers to send us pictures of you and your mother.
US-based reader Archana tells us why we adores her mother Vijaya Lakshmi.
This pic (above) was taken on on August 1, 2018 in Hyderabad. It was my mum's 60th birthday.
We'd visited India to surprise her on her birthday.
We had recorded greetings and wishes from all my friends.
My mother is awesome; she is God to me.
After my dad passed away in 2005, she made herself strong and capable to manage everything on her own.
She served as a postal officer in Central government.
When my sister and I settled in the US, she visited us several times to help us even as she continued to work in India.
She never made us realise that she is alone.
She is a pillar of strength to all of us including my daughters.
She is a role model for our family. Even my friends look up to her for her suggestions.
If I can learn and develop at least one per cent of her skills, my life would be fruitful.
